Amanda M. Vail

I’m a writer and editor who loves the arts and nonprofits. I have a BFA in Art History from Macalester College and a Certificate in Editing from the University of Washington. I’ve served on boards and worked for both arts and social services nonprofit agencies. Over the last fifteen years, I have written numerous articles on visual art, books, manga, and comics. In addition, I’ve brought teams of people together to advance nonprofit missions by implementing strategic procedural changes.

I believe in the importance of creating connections between an organization and its audience. I started Three Wrens Consulting to use my writing and editing skills to help artists, writers, small businesses, and nonprofits to better connect with their clients and customers.

I’m inquisitive, creative, logical, and personable. When I get started with a new client, I get to know them first. I seek out conversations and ask a lot of questions; for the best end result, I need to know how my clients work and what their goals are. Plus, that’s my favorite part of Three Wrens: getting to work with a wide variety of people.

Here’s a bit more information about my clients and what I do for them. If you don’t fit into one of these categories, have no fear! I love to learn about new things.

  • Nonprofits: grantwriting and proposals; mission statements; project management; marketing materials; policy and procedure development; operations manual.
  • Artists: artist statements; resumes; requests for qualifications; requests for proposals; artwork descriptions; web copy.
  • Writers: developmental manuscript editing; resumes; marketing materials; web copy.
  • Small Businesses: web copy; blog posts; social media; marketing plans; travel itineraries; technical copywriting; ads, posters, and brochures.

I’d love to talk about what I can do for you! Email me at amandamvail@gmail.com or use the contact form below to send me a message.

(Oh! And yes, I’m also writing a graphic novel. If you’re looking for that, click on over to the Wayfarers website.)
